One of my favourite moments in all of music is this section in 'Arcade Summer' by FM-84.
The whole 'scaling everything back before bringing it all back in at the end' is something that just wows me every time I hear it.
It's something I've done in one of my tracks and something I can see myself doing many times over.
Another thing I quite like to do is to write all my different little lead parts in isolation and bring them all together at the end, with no drums, bass or chords, into a little lead acapella. Sometimes it sounds surprisingly nice and a good way to round off a track.
