I own pretty much most of them. But I am tired of listening through presets and am looking to learn sound design in 2 or 3 of them. I know serum is worth learning about but what other synths are good because I don't know much about the different types of synthesis.
I am thinking of ignoring massive because I've heard serum can replace it.
I'm thinking I'll ignore sylenth1 because spire would maybe be better? If not what's good at complimenting serum?
Is fm8 worth learning? I want to make dubstep, will serum suffice? Or does the fm synthesis have a lot of benefit? I know serum can do some but can fm8 do a lot more?
I only want to ignore certain synths so that I can focus on 2-3 good ones that will help me create my own music. I am printing the manuals of the ones I choose and want someone with more knowledge to give their opinion on where I should give my attention.
Is serum and spire a good decision or is there a better choice than spire? And does fm8 offer a considerable amount of benefit if I'm learning serum?
Sorry for the awkwardly structured question but yeah if you were someone wanting to begin learning sound design for dubstep what 2-3 synths would you learn about?
