I can get a piano to sound pretty decent but I'm a pianist and I can very much so tell that I can't get that professional live sound. The biggest thing is if I arpeggiate on a plug in it won't get the some reverb/texture in the low end. Also the high end usually ends up being too bright without the kind of warmth you get in the mid section. I usually use Nexus and even combine it with the logic steinway cause I do like that piano, but I was wondering if there was a way to make it sound more realistic. I found a cool trick to pan the left hand left and right right (which seems kind of obvious) but that made it sound a little more realistic. I guess the main thing is the tone now that is really bothering me cause I like to write with melodic piano lines that can't really shine without a proper sound.
