Hey guys,
Thanks in advance for your time.
Currently, I'm questioning my environment for proper mixing and monitoring.
Gear I use:
- Presonus Eris E4.5 Monitors for composing
- Focal Spirit Pro Headphones for mixing
Notes about set-up:
-
I'm in a small room, approximately 12' x 8'.
-
Monitors are on acoustic pads on each side of my PC monitor, about 3' apart.
-
Monitors are roughly 3" below ear level
-
No acoustic treatment
-
Ground level room, hardwood floors, drywall
My first thought was that I needed better monitors, however I'm wondering if that's even worthwhile having my room set-up the way it is.
Here are my questions:
-
What is worth or not worth upgrading at this point?
-
In what order should I invest in: 1) Monitors 2) Acoustic treatment
-
What is the best way I can use the room I have to give me the best environment for mixing?
