Hi, I have been beginning to learn how to produce EDM music for some months now, and there's one particular concept that escapes my understanding, which is the need to compress things, sidechain compress, etc.
Now, I don't ask you explain exactly how compression works, etc. I'll figure out by my own, no need for you to do the work for me. It's just that I need a layman's explanation for compression, like the one you would say for EQ 8 (you eq8 different parts of the tracks so the the soundwaves of each sound don't clash. pretty basic and reductionist explanation but gets the point across).
Many thanks!
