So I'm able to get a maschine mk2 in gold used for less than 300 bucks which is alot less than the typical 500-600 bucks a Push 2 costs. It's also in mint condition. However I've often heard that it's very limited in its function beyond straight beat-making. I'm not sure what I want/need since I'm still pretty new to making music. I first and foremost wanna make electronic/beat based music but I wanna combine it with more experimental stuff. I know alot of technical things now but I'm wondering if the limits which come with maschine are frustrating or if they might be a good guidance for newbies to get going.
How does the hardware compare to Push 2? I'm also considering getting the maschine for midi mode in ableton since you're still able to use Drum racks, instead of the maschine software. ( I heard midi-mode decreases the sensitivity of the pads though so I'm not sure if they'll be quite as nice as Push 2)
From what I heard Push 1 has pretty shitty pads compared to the 2nd gen. Those are pretty important to me.
I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who uses/used both
