Making a remix from a lot of professional stems. Should I add the ones I use to the mixer (alongside my additions), turn down the mix to peak at -6 dB, and then master?

Not really sure about the best way to go about it from a technical standpoint, since the stems all sound pretty good and loud and mastered already.
