Hey edmprod,
Is there any sure-way to know if your track is going to clip?
I just don't understand wh¨ my music gets so horrible-sounding at a loud volume. Everything starts sounding buzzy/distorted
The loudest instrument of my track is always the kick
The loudest part where everything plays at once is -6dB
From there I throw a eq aad some stereo-wideners on the master.
Next, multipressor on master, making sure the output of the multipressor is below 0dB
Then a brickwall/additive limiter, I turn the gain up until I get around 2-3dB reducton on loudest part.
The output ceiling is set to -1.5dB.
I upload to soundcloud, go play it in my car, turn it up to around 75% volume.. and it sounds like a cannonball bouncing around a metal room (okay not exactly, but it sounds a little bit like I'm being fucked in the ear by a spiky robot cock).
Tl;dr: every song I have ever heard turned up to maximum sounds great. Mine sounds way too loudand horrible, like all the intsruments are trying to play over eachother in an extreme shouting-match
