Hey fellow producers. So I've been doing this thing for about 10 years blah blah... My music is really good, both in production and just all around. I know music is completely subjective and there will always be people who just aren't into it.
Often times I see music that is worse (again subjective, but I mean really bad) than mine get promoted etc..
My music only garners a few plays on Soundcloud. It's like getting people to listen to it is the hardest part. The whole chicken and the egg argument. I can't get people to listen & I just get lost in the noise.
I've tried sending off my music to labels, but they hardly seem to respond. I've tried a bit (but should send more) to try and promote on blogs, but nobody is picking me up right now. I am on submithub, but I'm starting to think it's a scam on the free account, because I've sent my song to a lot of bloggers, but it just keeps getting rejected and the play count on my songs does not change (maybe its because I'm using a youtube link)
The rejections hurt a lot. Like a lot. If I knew it was going to be this hard I probably may have not even started to make music, but here I am, with no choice now. I've spent a lot of time with this thing that I love, but nobody to share it with.
I could really use some promotional advice. The more creative the better. I know we are in a very competitive field and I totally understand that and respect that. In fact, I don't want to take anything away from you. I just want my own music to get the attention I believe it deserves (and I say that in a very loving way towards my music, almost as if it deserves it and not me).
