Hello guys. I think I've finally come to the conclusion that I am not creative. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a bad producer ( released tracks on multiple labels if it means anything) but in those songs I've had to rely on my friends who made the melodies and I made the songs around it.
I've learned enough music theory to pretty much do intermediate to advanced stuff as in to do chord progression as in which chords work well together etc etc
I have even bought Melodyne which has helped A LOT
I've tried to learn the piano but I just can't sit down and learn, my mind wants to produce so much.
I'm always learning ( 2 hours of learning , 3 hours of producing every day)
I've listened to EDM (seriously) for about less than a year and am making music constantly for about 6~ months ( took a year just to learn music theory and my DAW)
People say age doesn't matter but will it matter since I'm 15? I feel like when I do make a good melodies it sounds too "pop" (I listened to LOTS of pop before hearing EDM)
Some days ideas for melodies come to me very fast but other days ... Most days... Nothing comes up.
I'm willing to do ANYTHING to learn to make good melodies, if even learn the piano but it's gotten to the point that I have to release tracks as my views have been exploding recently.
What do you guys think, hopefully this is a place for others to try and fix their problem. Is it because of my inexperience both listening to EDM and my age? (I heard EDM on and off since I was 10 in the dubstep Skrillex era but it became my go to genre after 2016 summer, I basically live and breathe it)
I'm scared that this music thing isn't for me... What do you guys think. I don't want to disappoint anyone as a lot of money has gone into this and it's something I ADORE ):
( I already searched far and wide into both YouTube, This Sub, asked my fellow producers etc etc)
