Hi, so i have this pretty weird problem and maybe someone here can help.
Recently Ableton has had trouble buffering in my newer project files. When I first open up the project everything is usually smooth, but after a while the Hard Disk Overload Indicator will light up and samples will not play etc... At this point the status bar will display a buffering progress bar stuck on some percentage (a lot of the time 0%). This is really annoying because I cannot audition samples and samples will not play a lot of time now. The problem gradually gets worse unless I restart Ableton. Very recently dragging in a sample and playing it crashed the program.
I've also noticed that the CPU meter will also sometimes be stuck on 0% during playback. After a certain point playback will be super laggy and CPU will spike to 200% or whatever.
Its rather odd because my computer has no issues running some older larger project files that have 50-70+ tracks with multiple instances of serum, diva, kontakt, and dune running. So I don't think its my CPU.
Messing with buffer size and multicore support has done nothing. I've even reinstalled Ableton and the problem still happens. I've also tried removing tracks and plugins one by one but couldn't find a culprit.
I'm using a 2015 13 inch MBP with i5 and 256GB.
All help appreciated.
