I've been trying to emulate the same effect on a different sample, however I can't seem to get it quite right.
I've tried the obvious (easy) methods such as pitching it up an ocatve, pitching it down an octave (or 5/7 semitones), syncing them up, and running them through a sidechain compression.
While that achieved something similar, it still didn't sound quite right. It doesn't "gel" or harmonize as well as the other producer's sample does.
Anyone have any ideas? I really love the sound and emotion he was able to capture with his sample. Obviously he added some percussion but I'm talking about the vocals specifically. Did he detune it a little? I really want to use a sample in the same vein as the basis for my next song but can't quite get it sounding right... thanks yall
