This is hard to explain cause If I had a grasp on it I would be able to answer it, but something I was taught in School (our Music Teacher was a sucker for music theory, amazing guys btw) is for example that the semitone below the root not always wants to resolve in said root note. That's something that is probably provable mathematically wise looking at sine waves and stuff. Have you ever wondered If there was a mathematical way to like EQ stuff like for example a kick and eq out the notes in the Kick that match the notes of the tone so that the notes in the kick that match the notes in the chord don't amplify the volume? like for a basic Idea. Might be a stupid and naive question
basically if everything you do manually and by hearing could be done to an absolute superior and perfect level. It kind of denies the Idea of art and creativeness, but lately i have a feeling that if everything comes down to math there must be perfection that is mathematically perfect and thus sounds perfect.
Another thing that came to my mind is the physical differences in brain and hearing organs which would probably make perfection unachievable. Guess I am overthinking this but it is interesting to me
My music teacher always said that after figuring out the genius in works like bach or chopin it took away from his emotional love for the piece but made him appreciate the intellectual genius more. Comparable to good mix and master for this community I guess
