Hey guys,
I am trying to create some future house for the first time and I've been using this as reference track https://youtu.be/Iprm-9O6UAA?t=58s
When I try to create something like this there is way too much bass. I use the square wave bass pluck which is standard in future house and I distort and highpass it while layering it with a sub. Combined with a kick it is too much low end. I tried sidechaining the sub and the square to the kick but then it takes away that future house rhythm/feel.
How do I achieve a future house bass that is not muddy? Do I take a kick without low end or do I have to change something with the bass?
EDIT: this is what I came up with but it doesn't feel right or is it just me https://soundcloud.com/kasper-wolsink/future-house-testerino
