Hi edmprod! I've lurked a lot and am really starting to take music production seriously (as a hobby :P). I see lots of "how do I make this" questions all over the Internet, and inevitably someone comes in and knows the specific types of waves to use and how to edit them just right in whatever synth to get that sound. For instance, id have no idea how to go about recreating 95% of the sounds used in Madeon's music. I know how to create a basic pluck and a supersaw, but that's about it. I'd love to become an expert in sound design. How do I go about learning to know how to recreate a sound?
Edit: I know the most obvious response is "practice", but what do you practice in sound design? Watch videos of people making sounds using my synths and follow along? What exactly do I need to do to get this ear for synthesis?
I know there's no easy way to become an expert at something, just looking for good advice.
