Sometimes I start with the Beatmaker on Splice which seems to be pretty damn good because of its ability to use any samples available on splice plus you can structure them in the sequencer. It does have obvious limitations too though.
If I'm feeling like jumping straight into Ableton, I usually will just throw a few samples together in the arrangement view and build a beat that way. Seems tedious, because it is however I find that I have the most control over individual sounds using this method.
Anyone else have a fast, efficient workflow?
