I've been learning to produce music, but I'm still very new to this whole thing. I have a friend who (seems like) went straight into playing at venues without making his own sounds or music.. Would that be a right step going forward for me? Make an hour long mix, and try to get gigs at nightclubs and events? Or should I focus on making my own sounds? Also, what were some of the first steps you took to be where you are today? Did you learn to make music first, or simply put together a fire mix, and play at venues? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
