I'm a guitarist that wants to go into composing, because I love film and videogame scores and always have. I've gathered so much theory and play some things on the piano (mostly it's my MIDI-tool). The problem is that I don't know how to get started with a good working practice. Just doing a bit of everything, makes improvement, but has little satisfaction and almost gets me depressed, when I never produce more than small bits. I have played the piano for about a year-and-a-half. I know what scales and intervals are and get the very basics. My weakest points are notation, both reading and even more so writing. My strengths are a good ear, as I'm self taught by guitar, for more than 15 years and access to good instruments and DAW. I use apps for general practice, but I want to produce while learning, to see the progress. What would be a good practice routine for me to get this?
TL;DR: Need help creating a learning work routine.
