I want to sample off vinyl using a numark turntable. So i've been looking at picking up the Mackie Big Knob, which has a phono preamp, along with other inputs & outputs.
I have a JP 8000 that I currently run into the inputs 1 & 2 of the Babyface Pro. I wanted to purchase a Novation Bass Station II mono synth, but I'm out of physical inputs on the Babyface Pro.
Would the Mackie Big Knob help me out here, without having buy a separate ad/ad ADAT converter?
I'm thinking I could route things like this, but I'm unsure:
Babyface Pro Main Outs -> Big Knob DAW Mix Inputs
Big Knob DAW Output -> Babyface Pro Main Inputs
JP 8000 Stereo Output -> Big Knob Stereo Source Input A
Bass Station II Mono Out -> Babyface Pro analog input #3
Numark Turntable Out -> Big Knob Phono Inputs
In the future, if I ever get another stereo synth, I could plug it into the Big Knob Stereo Source Input B. I could only record on a single stereo channel, so I'd have to record each separate.
But using this setup, I could have 2 mono inputs directly in the Babyface Pro, a turntable & 2 stereo synths on the Big Knob, all connected without the need of another ad/da converter unit, right?
