I mostly make dubstep, trap, and hybrid type stuff and often find myself having a lot of kicks in my drum patterns, especially in the drops. Yet this is something I hear very rarely in professional tracks. Is there a reason why drum patterns stay somewhat "basic" or "simplistic" in a lot of electronic music? Is it a "bad" habit to have too many kicks in a drum pattern even if it does ultimately sound good?
