So, a friend of mine reminded me of this series. After watching it again I was amazed at how little I remember of it and how awesome it really is. Well I was inspired and produced this in honor to its memory.
Not exactly EDM, but still I considered it worth sharing since I decided to use the basic EDM song structure (Intro, Buildup, Main Section, Breakdown, Buildup, Release to Main Section 2, etc.) I do focus on avoiding repetitiveness in every of my songs though, so expect construction and deconstruction from start to finish.
For those who are interested, I started this one off by working with the string quartet as a 4-part harmony. As usual I veered off the ruleset and ended up with this. The grand piano plays the soprano role. The violins are in divisi at both alto and tenor roles. The cello is statically at a tenor role at the lower octaves very close to the bass. You’ll see that this in no way sounds like a 4-part chorale but I wanted to share that this consistently happens to me; I start with this technique and end up with a wide range of possible variations for the strings afterwards.
Let me know if you enjoy it. If you have any questions let me know also.
