I've seen this question get asked a few times before, and it's something I've always wondered myself.
How do you record a sequence of patterns in Grossbeat without playing them live? If you just let Grossbeat run in the background, it'll just loop the same 4-beat pattern over and over.
But I recently found a (somewhat sloppy) but useful solution!
In FL, under "Current project", click "Effects" and find Grossbeat in the list. Click it, then you'll see all the parameters you can automate within it. "Time slot" and "volume slot" are the two pattern selectors. Right click whichever one you want to automate, then click "edit events". A piano roll will come up where you can kind of draw in a control. Different y-coordinates of the piano roll represent different patterns in GB. You will have to play with it to make sure it plays back the patterns you want, but just use this tool to draw in a sequence of GB patterns. It'll be attached to whatever the active playlist clip is, so I recommend creating a new clip before you start this process.
Hope this helps, and let me know if you have a better way of doing it!
