Hey guys, so I've been producing on FL for around 5 years on a pc I built back then, and love it.
For some background, I've never considered switching DAWs, but now that I'm in college it's a hassle to keep on transporting the PC back and forth. For this winter break, I got it securely shipped, but it stopped working (probably a power supply unit and/or graphics card issue). I have a laptop that I use for school which is a 13 inch macbook air, and although I run bootcamp on it, it's simply not powerful enough to handle FL and vst plugs, and usually crashes around 1hr in.
So for some external reasons, I can't get my pc repaired for a while, so I have two options: buy a decent windows laptop for probably around ~$500-$600 and just start transporting that in between home and college, or get ableton live on my macbook air (student edition is ~$200) but spend a month or so completely familiarizing myself with it. What should I do?
Any advice would be extremely appreciated, as I'm pretty lost here. Thank you!
