I always knew that the sub eats up more headroom than other frequency ranges, but I just compared a sine wave playing 25Hz and then a really high pitched sine wave, and they are the exact same amplitude. Any note played was exactly the same volume.
Can someone explain why? I assumed a high pitched sine wave would take up less headroom than a low pitched sine wave. Also, is the amount of "space" being taken up by the sine wave accurately represented in the meter?
