I've started producing music for about a month and a half now, throughout the last 2-3 weeks I've been focusing on the genre Future bass due to a huge inspiration from Porter Robinson and Flume, I've learnt the basics and able to structure my songs with chord progressions such as 7ths + 9ths with inversions in major/minor. But now that I've learnt the basics, should I carry on expanding on the future bass genre to the point I can produce them really well or should I try learn something new such as Madeons type of Electro-pop/Synthpop which has definitely caught my attention recently, i'm hoping to develop my own style throughout the years and the thought of learning lots of different genre's whilst picking the best aspects for me then combining them was an idea? because I really like future bass "saw/square sound design" but at the same time electropops drum rhythmns and... progressive house builds. sorry if this is confusing
Up to now i've been very damn committed to the whole learning process everyday, learning theory starting from grade 1 until I reach 5, and dedicating days for Sound Design and chord progressions to familiar myself with voicing.
any advice thanks :D
