I have recently been wanting to learn piano and so far I have learned a little bit of music theory and major and minor scales (for the most part) and want to know what the best order to approach things is. I am self taught. I asked my friend who used to play violin for orchestra in school and he said that learning songs at your difficulty and progressing is a good way. But I don't know if I should progress until I have all of my scales done without even thinking about it. If someone could just give like a list of things or "milestones" of when to move onto a new unit or learn a new part of it that would be fantastic. Thanks!
