I've been lurking a lot on this sub and occasionally asking something and replying to some posts, but what I noticed the most is that a lot of producers have often the so called "writer's block" or simply can't get out of their 8bar loops.
First of all, I love Future House and that is that kind of vibe I want to give to my tracks, but sadly it needs a great balance between groove and melody to achieve that feel, which is pretty much what bothers me (and tons of other producers I guess).
I know basic music theory (I've been playing the piano since I was 5) and I can pull out some catchy chord progressions without any difficulties, but after that I'm quite stuck. All my melodies sound too lazy and predictable that it always makes me want to delete the project.
I noticed that all the songs I like have a simple and repetitive melody, but they sound full and energetic enough to be groovy whereas mine sound too piano-ish and (as I repeat) predictable as hell.
I bet a lot of new producers have found themselves in the same situation, where they hear other tracks and go like "wow, how did he come up with such a simple but punchy drop? ". I'd like to discuss with you about that and see how you approach the problem.
Happy holidays btw!
