I am trying to get some samples from 90's pop songs (Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC) produced by Max Martin. I know this sounds extremely lame, but I'd like to utilize them.
The two specific things I'm looking for are a sample of the snare, and in all of his songs, it sounds like there are samples of someone breathing/exhaling. There are some pretty cool and unique electronic drum sounds as well that I'd like to use.
I've spent hours researching this on different forums, to no success. Basically what I've gathered is that he used a ton of manual drum machines, sound cards, and samplers. Some things that I believe he used were the Roland SR-JV80-06 Dance Expansion Board, Emu Planet Phatt Sound Module, Emu Proteus, and an Akai S1000 sampler with tons of sample CD's. While it would be cool to manually try to recreate these sounds with the actual devices he used in the 90's, I think it's highly impractical to buy all that stuff.
Does anyone know where I could find some of these samples, or how I could create them? I tried recording audio from some of the songs, and turning it into a sample, but the compression on the song makes the sample sound kind of weird. This is the closest I could find to the sound I'm looking for, but this guy charges hundreds of dollars for his samples. https://soundcloud.com/mxm-cheiron-drums
