Hello /r/edmproduction
Recently i've been looking into getting Studio Monitors for my computer setup. More specifically i've been looking into getting KRK Rokit RP5 G3 Speakers. My intention with these however is not to produce music, but only to use them as computer speakers, for listening to music , watching video etc.
I was wondering if using studio monitors just to listen to music etc is a good idea. I've read on a couple of forums that people say they produce significantly different sound compared to a regular pair of computer speakers 'how the producer intended you to hear it'. However a couple of forums also say that they are really good for just media consumption. So i was wondering if the sound that studio monitors produce is really that much different from just any old pair of speakers, and if this 'how the producer intended you to hear it' is a good or a bad thing when it comes to plain listening.
I would like to get input from some of you, because you probably have a lot more knowledge about this than i do.
~Thank you.
