So I know corrective EQ is for competing instruments (i.e. Two similar mid high frequency instruments) fighting for their spot such as using a bell curve to carve out overlapping freqs but I've heard somewhere in which if those two instruments are in different octaves, then they aren't competing?? Or I completely wrong in comparing octaves with frequencies?? Also, when I use the spectrum analyzer, I've found that by lowering an octave or raising an instrument higher, it shifts the frequency in which it becomes a non competing instrument with another one so is that a solution or does it not change the fact that they are still in the same frequency range??
