I know many of us are super stuck with different melodies so I have a little tip. Sometimes it feels we all make super generic melodies with little depth and layering potential to make the sound fat! I'm here to change that.
Let's say you make a really generic melody or chord. You don't know where to take it from next. What do you do? Answer is simple. Cut it up in to fourths, then flip the melody. Cut it up in thirds, then flip the melody. Cut it up in seconds and flip the melody. Boom you have a completely new melody from the process you had when you made it. You can also flip the alternating base notes of the melody structure and basically make a completely random and really cool arpeggio or even more advanced melodies that you can add extra notes to make more accentuated melodies!
I hope this helps some of you :)
