So... I'm trying to learn how to music (specifically dubstep). I finally first made my first song last night and it didn't turn out like dubstep but I'm really proud of it (I went from not knowing how to do drums a week ago, to luckily creating something, which I'm proud of).
But now, I really want to make some sort of melodic dubstep. Lots of info out there on how to make pads, wobbles, mixing, equalizing, arrangement (not much), etc. but for the life of me, I can't find information on how to put them together?
I'm at lost with where to go after the drums. I finally found info on the difference between pads and leads, but what should I make first? Where do I even introduce them?
Basically, while there's info on structure/arrangement, I can't find many.
I know there isn't "rules" but I'd like some sort of cookie cutter template so I could start. The song I made has a really good melody (to me, anyways. I'm proud of it) but I don't know how to work with it. I just introduced a bunch of plucks, strings, random things from Ableton.
For example, lots of tutorials on sub-bass. But where do I put them? Ugh.. it's really frustrating. I know it's only a week, but with today's info library, you'd think I'd easily find them
