Hi everyone. I've been studying the demo song that comes with FL 12. If you haven't heard it yet, this is the demo song by Adam Szabo that comes with FL 12:

I wanted to look into how this song is EQed because to my ears it sounds near on perfect and almost mastered. I have a few questions about how certain things are done in this song and I would appreciate any insight from anyone that understands EQ better than I do.
First I checked the master track and this is what I found:

1 x Parametric EQ 2 1 x Maximus (A compressor/limiter) 1 x Fruity Limiter
Questions: Why is he using two limiters? If two limiters are normal, why is he using 1 Maximus and 1 Fruity Limiter?
The settings for Maximus and Fruity Limiter all seemed normal (Maximus did have settings that were different from the default mode though, and Fruity Limiter just had tiny tweaks from the default), so I decided to open up the EQ settings on the master channel. This is what I saw:

It looks like he is boosting the low end and cutting the mids and highs.
Questions: Why? The mix sounds very balanced when this EQ is applied, but in my experience boosting bass causes distortion, especially sub 20hz bass. Is there any special reason why it is EQed this way, and why it works so well in this particular mix?
The last thing I want to ask about is his main vocal track EQ. It looks like this:

The low cut makes sense for a vocal track, but why is everything else boosted so much? Again the vocals sound great in the final mix, but it seems odd that they are boosted so much, and then cut in the master channel EQ.
I'm still a newbie to mixing and EQ, and a lot of the decisions made here seem contrary to what I am finding in other tutorials about EQ.
