Applied at every fucking studio in my city, at this point I don't even care If I have to serve coffee and grab beers.
I had my first interview last Friday at a very prestigious studio that has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Simple plan.
The interview went really well considering I could tell the owner was pleased that I am 100% obssessed with and dedicated to music.
He gave me a heads up that the hours are retarded: All over the place and sometimes 10-16 hours a day but he made it clear that he pays by the hour and every hour gets paid.
He also gave me the job description that I will be grabbing coffees and cleaning after sessions but that I will also sit in the sessions as serve as an engineers assistant until I have enough experience to sit in the drivers seat.
He also mentioned that I can use all and any pieces of equipment when they are available.
I'm 31 by the way guys and I've been dreaming of this for years. It is possible.
The way I got the interview:
Very easy, I followed that particular studio on Facebook so I shot them an email via the info on their fb page. In the email, I did not even attach my CV since I have exactly 0 technical experience with studios. I didn't think my 10 years of bedroom producing would count even though I did mention it in my email.
I spoke abit about myself and how passionate I am about music.
The owner responded almost immediately and told me to come in Friday for an interview.
I have high hopes and will let you guys know If I get it or not!
