Sometimes I feel like the thing that progresses my own music the most is as simple as attentively listening to artists I like. Those vibes then channel through me and manifest themselves in a personal way in my own music. How much music do you guys listen to on average? Do you listen to EDM artists mostly?
Personally, I can't work well at my day job to anything but ambient music. Not counting the ambient office tunes, I listen to maybe 4 hours of music a day. About 1 hour of that is music I already know and want to get to know better, and 3 hours goes to new shit I find. When I listen to new stuff, I focus hard on it and I skip songs that I immediately know I don't dig for one reason or another (which is quite a lot tbh), so in an hour I can probably go through about 50 songs.
Not trying to say my method is the best, because I wish I could listen more. Just trying to share my reality to start the conversation.
Cheers
