I was tossing up between learning violin and cello and the main drawback of cello to me was that from what I know cello plays much less solo parts. I would almost always be playing by myself and so I feel like there would be less music to play unless I wanted to play more backing parts, which by yourself seems rather stale to me.
Is this true or does the cello have enough interesting solo parts?
