I have an idea for an app, and I want to see if it (or something like it) already exists.
What I have in mind is an iPhone or iPad app that simply shows a staff, a clef, and a key signature, along with some direction: "two octaves of tonic scale," or "one octave of chromatic scale," or "two octaves of dominant seventh." Something like that.
When the student is done, they touch a "Next" button, and some random page from the collection comes up. That is to say, another image of a staff, a clef, and different key signature, and new directions.
Ideally...the microphone would capture the student playing and know when the exercise is over, then move to the next one.
And even more ideally...the app would capture the output and determine which exercises the student has the most difficulty with, and show them again at some point in a spaced repetition manner.
Of course, one could go on and on with features. For example, a built-in metronome that automatically increases the speed when appropriate.
Anyway, is there anything even remotely like that available?
