I need direction with the piano. I’ve been playing for just over 10 years (27) I’m self taught through YouTube. I can play stuff from jazzy toy story “you’ve got a friend” vibes to classic beethoven to faster heavy meta keyboard stuff. It’s all over the place. The only original stuff I’ve “made” is about 3-4 minutes of jams ALL in the key of B Major. I’ve been stuck just playing in that key for 4 years now any when practicing in other keys I lose interest. I want to understand music more so I can just jam and understand it to a point of not playing what’s already been played but I don’t know where to start.
Scales?
Whatever it is that people always refer to as “theory” ?
I would deeply appreciate advice.
