Hey guys, hopefully it's okay that this question has its own thread; I couldn't find a megathread for random questions.
A bit of my background - I'm quite familiar with music production in general and am super comfortable with theory, but I'm relatively new to synth sound design and I'm wondering if my lack of knowledge is the source of this problem.
I've been noodling around with an acapella from the Dua Lipa track IDGAF and the supersaws I've created in Serum seem to be tuned flat (about 20-30 cents) when compared to a clean (init) preset. At first, I thought the acapella itself was 20-30 cents sharp, but after adding a lead patch/pluck I noticed it was actually the chords.
I then wondered if it the preset I used, so I created a supersaw from scratch and it ended up doing the same thing. I don't believe it's a matter of detune, as I've played around with it enough to rule that out.
I know I can simply finetune the synths, but I'm wondering what's inherently causing them to be tuned so flat.
I've literally never had this problem before so it's kind of blowing my mind.
Any insight would be awesome - I can provide audio snippets if need be.
Thanks so much!
