Old music lover here. I grew up loving the music scene and am really just a big kid when it comes to music. My son started in playing around with fl studio 2 years ago at 12 yrs of age. He's added the Arturia microbute, some korg volcas, some the pocket operaters, some bheringer sound equpment, a few mixers and a ton of VST's in FL. He really understands the process and is getting a handle on music theory and his stuff is light years better than it used to be, but he's starting to get the 'lost' feeling. Like he doesn't know what to do next. I tell him to keep producing and just get better, but not sure what he's searching for. I've encouraged him to make more simple tracks. Maybe some ambient, etc. But his tracks are fully of layers and automation and I've seen some of his stuff use 100% of his processor just to edit. I suppose I could be hands off and let him figure it out, but just curious what you guys do when you feel like you hit a wall or a plateau in your creativity. I think he will be great one day, but he's kind of 'alone' in his hobbies and could really use some support right now. Thanks...
