All my life, the closest thing I've come close to a dream of pursuing music is learning the piano till grade 3, and going to hella EDM festivals. I studied interior design because initially I liked it, but after studying 3 years of it, I don't really feel like doing it for the rest of my life. So last year I won a chance to learn DJ-ing for free and even got a pretty good starter controller for free, and ever since then I've dreamt of a me producing music and playing them to people.
Only problem is, I come from an Asian family, and you know how they are with breaking new ground, especially if it's something they don't ubderstand. They keep pushing me to either further my design studies or look for a job in a design firm, but really all I want is to learn music production now. Can someone advise me?
TL;DR: I have old school Asian parents but a modern dream I want to chase, how do i convince them to let me?
