Started experimenting with making rap beats and I'm learning how to make 808s.
How do you process them when it goes down to sound design part? I recently tried experimenting with saturation and distortion (CamelCrusher), but I don't know if there are more options that can play a play role.

Another thing I can't seem to get right is the slide effect. Right now I'm trying make my own 808s from scratch in Serum but I can't to legato settings right to create those nice and quick slides like in God's Plan. Usually when I watch tutorials I see people play with a sampler and I tried that in Ableton as well. I seem to get better results using the glide mode in the sampler than playing around with portamento en legato in Serum.
