I have been using a lot of NI Massive and have decided it's time for a new synth. I was sure it would be Serum, since a lot of people seem to use it, it looks really amazing and can make really good sounds. In every top virtual synth list there is, Serum surely would be mentioned.
Today I randomly decided to try the Artura Moog Modular V (basically a virtual moog) - a synth I always had but never used since it seems really complicated and confusing compared to all the modern synths like Massive or Serum. I thought with the knowledge I gained over the past few months I might give this synth another shot.
Well, anyways, the moog still seems extremely difficult and confusing. But the presets I have tried that were made with it sound really amazing. The synth has 9 oscillators (compared to Serums 2) and appearently infinite possibilities in sound design.
Now I'm thinking, is there any reason besides Serum not being as confusing to use it over the Moog (and besides Serum being polyphone while the moog isn't)? The moog is never mentioned in top virtual synth list, it's always the usual suspects like Massive, Serum or Sylenth, but the Moog seems to be able to do so much more.
What is your opinion on those synths?
