I exclusively use mp3 samples that I cut and chop in patterns over a drum break. The only effects I use are basic eq, parametric equalizer, and sometimes slight distortion.
I will use several different samples (anywhere from 15-40 songs sampled per project). I rarely ever go over 16 tracks. I don't use any VST's.
My program (Magix Music Maker 16) tends to crash when the project gets too busy, and the program resets. I don't seem to get any latency, but at some point the program decides it just can't handle it.
I am thinking of upgrading my RAM, but was wondering if that is what I need or if it is something else, such as CPU. I'm looking for advice on this, as well as tips to optimize the performance of my PC.
I unfortunately don't have my PC specs on me (not at home), but it's a desktop HP Pavillion, about 4 years old. I have a sound card installed, but I never noticed any discernible difference after installing it. I currently have 4 GB RAM that came with the PC.
Thanks in advance
