I downloaded a little synth sample loop with a great sound. However, this loop only uses 3 triads, say of the C-major scale. I can slice it clean and use these 3 triads independently. But I'd like to be able to use the other 3 C-major triads (excluding the diminished one) in my track, if possible with the sample's sound.
1) If among the 3 triads played in the original sample, I have both a major and a minor triad, is it clean to transpose them to obtain all the other triads? Is this common practice?
2) If e.g. the original sample only has the 3 major triads, am I stuck with them?
3) Finally, how do you guys generally use such synth sample loops? Do you try to extract a maximum out of it, in a way to almost reproduce a full virtual instrument? Or do you rather stick to the original loop and use other samples/instruments to enrich the synth path of your track?
