please only comment: If you care a lot about voice moving, crossing, and doubling. (or have transcribed enough in the past)
If you really don't advertise on your own. (meaning you personally don't really pay money for this or a very little) Your company does the advertising part, currently (that's if your company does the advertisement part. for example, Rollercoaster tycoon game does advertise their game. and you had made the music for this game.)
If you really don't wish to tour, and just like to make money from getting your music signed to youtube music (free use for background music on youtube, and such), background musics for iphone App, or game music, not super complicated orchestra electronic music (ex. background music for car ads on FM radio). or do some kind of post production work on the side.
music examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lA5_dC80r4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFA59OtWh5c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMdSb3aVGkM (MR version, all electronic sounding, yes)
electronic music: we may use acoustic kick, and have a electronic kick, and blend in together. but it almost always use some kinds of electronic-drum-beat. and, synth is almost always there. and, we get this powerful sound that it's not so easy to get from acoustic sound, even with a proper mic technique.
I have a big respect to those who make their ends meet from just producing (let's say 60%+ income) alone. (never touring, Or have toured a little in the past but will never tour in the future.)
How do you guys do it? I mean how as in, what is your income structure for music producing. (if 100%=income from music alone) (an answer for example)
25%= my electronic background (free of use) music on youtube. youtube sends me a check bi-weekly. 42%= I made a music album for a laser tag company in europe. I got paid a one time fee from them. it was a good money. will make it for them again. 33%= A recording company wanted me to send my MR versions of 10 haddaway songs to their producer. So that their engineer can work on it. They wanted more revisions. I did it, and got paid ok. They ended up not using all of my versions, though. And, some songs i made 4 years ago got a lot of plays for some reason, i got paid from that. I don't really make much money from spotify plays. I get paid more from a label that belongs to a XM radio company.
Thank you for sharing your expertise in advance!
