Hey guys, I have been struggling with chords for a while. I'm not sure how exactly to pinpoint where I'm going wrong, but I often sound out the chords by ear, which ends up having one note per octave, and then I look at the pro chords or whatever, and they are often within the same octave etc.

I've tried the circle of fifths but it seems that, if I need a c Major chord, there's like 5 or 10 different versions, that all seem to sound quite different.
