Kinda confusing title, sorry. Basically I've gotten a lot of aspects fogured out about this whole shindig we call EDM production, but as you all know once you finally figure out how to get over an obstacle there's always another one right after. Currently, I'm pretty good at coming up with awesome melodies and drum fills, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to layer multiple melodies/samples/etc over each other without it sounding too muddy. Obviously mixing and mastering plays a huge role but at the same time I'm pretty sure you still need layers that work WITH each other. I always see projects like this and this while all of mine are normally kinda like this. I just started this, and usually when I'm done there's a few more things here and there like a few one-hits, automations, etc. I also know that a lot of the projects I'm seeing come from producers who have been doing it a lot longer than I have, but I still have no idea where to even start trying to figure it out. Any advice?
