I've been recording vocalists to use on my tracks and I don't have as much experience in this area as I do in others. There seems to be a standard of how vocals generally sound (though it varies per genre). I'm mostly struggling with the compression element, since I can't find the sweet spot between too much and too little compression. But as a general rule, what do people do to get their vocals to sit right in the mix?
