I know this sub is saturated with posts regarding lack of creativity and writers block, however I've finally hit a point in my productions where I need some advice.
I'm sure many of you have experienced this so any input is appreciated. I truly love producing and everything surrounding it, but I've come to a point where I can't seem to progress. My project folder is full of discarded drum loops, halfway catchy melodic synths, etc. It seems that every time I try to build a track, I make a cool drum loop, add a chord progression, and immediately become bored with it. I've completed multiple tracks, but they are only complete in arrangement, and sound like shit.
I don't want to bash myself as that only deepens the problem, but I can't seem to express my creativity in the way I'd like to.
Listening to other tracks I become inspired by the possibility that I could make something that inspires others, but can't even seem to inspire myself.
TL;DR- How do you guys remain focused when your productions sound like shit?
